Traveling with Community

Proof that the people you travel with can make an entire trip…

I just traveled to Thailand with a group of twenty people — half of them complete strangers — and somehow I’ve never felt more comfortable, more seen, or more myself on a trip than I did with this group.

There’s something so incredibly healing about being surrounded by people who let you exist as your truest self. To experience the beauty of the world without fear, without hiding parts of yourself to please others. That kind of freedom hits different. Especially when it’s in a country that doesn’t shame you for your identity.

Hosting this trip with @trovatrip, being able to show people what that looks like — and documenting it — was a privilege. As a photographer, I always talk about storytelling, and this trip made my job easy.

Community was the story. The people you make the memories with. The ones who laugh with you, hype you up, and create a space where you can breathe fully.

So yes, Thailand was absolutely gorgeous, but the people I experienced it with are what made the trip life-changing. 🤍
