Fight for Our National Parks

I truly think storytelling has the power to protect.

Ever since I was a kid, I dreamed of traveling the world and seeing places like this. Feeling completely free surrounded by nature. As a trans man, I know what it feels like to have my existence politicized — to have my rights targeted just for being who I am. Now, the very places I come to feel grounded and free are under attack too.

Right now, Trump and Republicans in Congress are trying to gut protections for millions of acres of public lands — lands just like this. They’re slashing 25% of National Park Service funding and clearing the way for oil and gas billionaires to profit from.

That means more wildfire risk, less access, fewer rangers, closed trails, trash piling up, and wildlife and ecosystems in danger. I hate to see more beautiful history erased, just as they’ve tried to erase my own community’s.

So I hope by sharing the photos I took here, they can be a reminder to people of what we’re fighting for.

They want to destroy these lands — but we still have a say in how this story ends.
